Pension Kraus

Pension Kraus is situated in a village, which is famous for the Krumlov Chniniclesdating back to 1315. It lies near significant towns - Český Krumlov (8 km), České Budějovice (17 km) and Třeboň (25 km) .

The Pension itself was established by a reconstruction of a typical South-Bohemian estate, where even the original facilities of the past were preserved, like the black kitchen and the bread oven.

Besides being easily accessible to the above mentioned towns, the following historical monuments can be found in the surroundings - Český Krumlov with the historical center, which represents the jewel of a world-wide importance (listed in UNESCO), Římov (4 km) - the church with a closed cloister and the Way of the Cross, Zlatá Koruna monastery (5 km), a locality famous in Europe - Třísov Kelt oppidum with near romantic ruins of a castle from the 13th century above the Vltava River - Dívčí kámen, Rožmberk castle, Vyšší Brod monastery, zámek Hluboká, Hluboká chateau, a natural locality of Terčino valley, and others. Near the pension there are also monuments reminding us of a horse-way,, which used to connect České Budějovice and Linz.

The surrounding terrain is suitable for bicycling, in winter for cross-country skiing, and for down-hill skiers there is a ski slope at Kleť(1084 n. m., about 18 km) and at Věžovatá pláně (6 km).

The pension is also accessible by train (České Budějovice Horní Dvořiště rout, Holkov station, 10 minutes by walk) and by bus České Budějovice - Kaplice rout, stop Holkov 15 minutes by walk).

Accommodation:

20 beds (3/2, 2/3, 2/4) with the possibility to add an extra bed. Dining room with a bar for guests, a large area with a fireplace, and sports games are available.

Swimming is possible in the Malša river in the natural resort near Římov. Parking is provided by the pension. Mountain bikes can be rented.

For company seminars and training Pension Kraus offers a flipchart, overhead projector, projection screen, video, and television.

In the attractive environment of the community room it is possible to organize chamber concerts for about 40 persons. This area can also be used for recording. There is an original piano ("Hammerflügel") Ignace Pleyel - Paris from 1854 at disposal.

The community room is also suitable for organizing social events - closed parties, company meetings, family celebrations, weddings, routs, etc.

The Pension Kraus Gallery organizes visual arts exhibitions.
